Ya-nan Zhang is currently working as an associate professor at the School of Environment, Northeast Normal University. Dr. Zhang received a B.S. in Environmental Science (2010) and a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering (2016) from Dalian University of Technology, Dalian, China.

Dr. Zhang’s research interests including: (1) Environmental behavior of emerging pollutants, such as pharmaceutical and personal care products (PPCPs), brominated flame retardants (BFRs), and antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs), etc. in aqueous environment; (2) Environmental behavior of dissolved organic matter (DOM) and its effects on the transformation of emerging pollutants in natural waters; (3) Development of advanced oxidation processes (AOPs) to remove emerging pollutants in wastewater. He has published research papers in the high authorized and representative specialized journals including Environmental Science Technology, Water Research, etc.
