Dr. Jinping Cheng is an assistant professor at the Department of Science and Environmental Studies, the Education University of Hong Kong. She is also an affiliated member of the State Key Laboratory of Marine Pollution at City University of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Branch of the Southern Marine Science and Engineering Guangdong Laboratory (Guangzhou). Prior to joining EduHK, she has worked at the Hong Kong university of Science and Technology, and East China Normal University. Dr. Cheng received her PhD in Environmental Science from City University of Hong Kong (CityU), and was s visiting postgraduate student at both the University of Dundee at Dundee and Clemson University at South Carolina. Her research interests include aquatic toxicology, waste management, particle-microbe interactions, environmental DNA metabarcoding, toxicology, pollution monitoring and risk assessment, with an aim to promote environmental health and sustainability. Her research has been funded by Research Grants Council of Hong Kong, the Natural Science Foundation of China, the Ministry of Education of China, GuangDong Natural Science Foundation and more.
