Dr. Gao is a full professor at Donghua University. He was co-educated at Donghua University, Michigan State University, and Jackson State University, and earned his Ph.D. in Environmental Science and Engineering in 2012. His research focuses are mainly related to fate, elimination, and toxicity of emerging contaminants in the natural and engineering systems, and biological technologies for wastewater treatment and contaminated soil remediation. Till now, he has published >50 papers in high-quality environmental journals such as Environmental Science & Technology and Water Research. He also serves as the Guest editor for Science of the Total Environment on the topic of microplastic.
