Professor

Wuhan University of Technology, China

Yi Xie is currently working as a professor at State Key Laboratory of Silicate Materials for Architectures, Wuhan University of Technology (WUT). He obtained the Ph.D. degree in building materials and engineering at WUT in 2008. His research areas cover nanomaterials and films for energy and environment, with a series of achievement in Cu-based chalcogenides for photothermal conversion application; semiconducting nanomaterials (e.g., halide perovskites, titania) for LEDs, photovoltaics and photocatalysis; and multi-functional films (e.g., superhydrophobic films, antireflection films) for applications in self-cleaning, anti-flashover, anti-fouling, anti-icing, etc. He has published more than 70 academic papers in high-quality peer-reviewed journals such as J. Am. Chem. Soc., ACS Nano, Chem. Mater., Nano Research, ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces. He held 7 patents in nanomaterials and nanotechnology, some of which have been implemented in commercial applications in anti-pollution flashover, antifouling, anti-moisture condensation, anti-icing, etc.
