Dr. Shuo WANG has been working in the faculty of Environmental Engineering, Jiangnan University (China) as associate professor and postdoctoral associate in the department of civil engineering, University of Calgary (Canada). He was funded by the NSERC research fellow program in Canada and was selected for the Jiangsu Provincial Talent Program. He engaged in the formation mechanism of aerobic granular sludge based on quorum sensing and quorum quenching, transformation and transportation of emerging contaminants and sludge/cyanobacteria treatment and disposal for resource recovery, and published over 80 scientific publications in peer reviewed journals and authorized 4 PCT patents. His research interest comprises the accounting of carbon emissions in the field of wastewater treatment process, the development of aerobic granular sludge for wastewater treatment, the operation and regulation of wastewater treatment plants, the transformation, transportation and environmental risks of emerging contaminants, the development of cost-effective technology for emerging contaminants removal, recovering resources from wastewater and sludge/cyanobacteria.
