Delft University of Technology 荷兰

Dr Edo Abraham (M.Eng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Imperial College London, 2008; Ph.D. in Control Systems Engineering, Imperial College London, 2013) is Assistant Professor Water & Control Engineering at TU Delft, Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geosciences. Prior to joining TU Delft in 2016, he was a post-doctoral researcher at the Environmental and Water Resources Engineering Group of Imperial College London. His research is personally driven by global societal challenges that relate to socioeconomic development and climate change adaptation. Some of his research deals with the optimal integration of water, energy and food resources and infrastructures in a to maximise economic benefits, reduce water, carbon, and ecological footprints and reduce access challenges. With his group of PhD researchers, Edo’s research in infrastructure planning for water, energy and agricultural systems develops and applies novel modelling, control, machine learning and optimization approaches for making integrated water-energy-agricultural systems of the future more efficient and resilient. His research projects include water allocation and optimising irrigation scheduling using agro-hydrological models and remote sensing, integrated planning and operational optimisation of multipurpose cascade reservoirs, optimising the economics and social resilience in the energy transition of space heating, the control of flood defence infrastructures in the Netherlands for smart electricity grid regulation, and optimising nascent water and energy infrastructure using water-food-energy-land nexus models (eg. in the context of SDGs). He has co-authored over 40 peer reviewed journal publications across these subjects. Edo is also an Associate Editor for Energy Systems (Springer Journal on Optimization, Modeling, Simulation, and Economic Aspects of energy systems) and has served as focus issue editor for Environmental Research Letters and Water Journals on Multi-scale water-energy-land nexus planning. Edo teaches courses at MSc level on integrated water resources management, control systems, mathematical optimisation, and Urban Water Systems.
